Interview with Dr. Drury
Soul Shaper – Left to ourselves, we are pretty tough souls with rock-stiffened minds that we’ll never reform into anything resembling the new creation God designed us to be. But God has provided us the means to soften hard hearts. They are found both in his Word and through tried and true practices of the church: spiritual disciplines. God has given us meaningful, life-changing practices so our hearts and minds can yield, soften, and be miraculously shaped by his Spirit’s touch. Only then can we finally experience life the way it is meant to be. Master teacher Keith Drury has taken the best from his two previous classics (Spiritual Disciplines for Ordinary People and With Unveiled Faces), and powerfully concentrated and updated it into this new and accessible book, offering the wisdom of ancient disciplines in simple, practical terms that today’s Christians can understand and apply. Gather – It seems that every follower of Christ at times becomes frustrated with his people. Many Christians become so frustrated with the church as an institution that they seek alternative forms of church or drop out of church altogether. But the truth is that we gather as a church because God has called us into community. And there are aspects of the Christian life that can only be learned while participating in worship and fellowship with other believers. In Gather: Why God Calls His People Together, Keith Drury shows how God uses Christian community and corporate worship to shape our lives and grow us spiritually.
“Son of God” discussion
The story of The New Testament gets a great treatment in the stand-alone feature SON OF GOD. Told with the scope and scale of an action epic, the film features powerful performances, exotic locales, dazzling visual effects and a rich orchestral score from Oscar®-winner Hans Zimmer. Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado portrays Jesus as the film spans from his humble birth through his teachings, crucifixion, resurrection and assention. It marks the first motion picture about Jesus’ life since Passion of the Christ, released ten years ago.
