Dr. Clarence Bence (most of his friends call him “Bud”) loves church history and coffee. From 1992-2005 he was a professor of church history at Indiana Wesleyan University. After serving three years as the Vice President and Academic Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at IWU, Dr. Bence returned to his first love—classroom teaching. He retired from full-time teaching in 2011, but continues teaching part-time as Church Historian in Residence at Wesley Seminary at IWU.
