THEY SAID IT
Somewhere among the Christian culture it has been drilled into our hearts and our minds that it is not appropriate to talk about sex.
Jennifer Smith in a her blog post, “Why I think Christians should talk about sex.”
It’s easy to see the appeal. The Robertsons are immensely likable. They’re funny. They look cool. They’re “smarter than they look,” says sportswriter Mark Schlabach, who co-writes the family’s books. And they are remarkably honest both with one another and with the viewing audience…
Drew Magary in his controversial GQ article with Duck Dynasty’s patriarch Phil Robertson.
This is very much an intuitive relationship between an emotional state and a religious state. We can make you feel awe and that’s going to trigger your belief in the presence and power of a supernatural being. Awe makes people want to see events as the result of design. That could be God or humans, depending on context.
Professor of psychology Piercarlo Valdesolo of Claremont McKenna College referencing his recent study which seems to link the sense of awe with religious explanation.

If you think my position on homosexuality is radical, just wait until you hear what else I believe! I believe that a teenage guy and girl who have sex in the backseat of a pick-up are sinning. The unmarried heterosexual couple living down the street from me is sinning. In fact, any sexual activity that takes place outside of the marriage covenant between a husband and wife is sinful. What’s more, Jesus takes this sexual ethic a step further and goes to the heart of the matter. That means that any time I even lust after someone else, I am sinning.
Trevon Wax in a blogpost entitled How I Wish the Homosexuality Debate would go.

Gent’s thanks for this episode. I was recently referred to Skydog by a guy in NZ. I was looking for a review on YouTube for more info and stumbled upon your channel, I am now a fan of your show. I also just ordered my Skydog via your link. I will be talking to our church as well as the christian school our 4 kids attend.
You discussed the Driscoll stuff going on last week and I saw this article that discusses his response and the publishers response. Seems pretty respectable, and one of the reasons I always give this guy the benefit of the doubt, along with how Matthew talked about how much of a good impact his ministry has had where he is at. http://rpx.me/5Uvr
